Does anybody have encountered the following problem with EUDORA? Each time I want to send a message, Eudora shows 'in progress' window (contact SMTP server, Mail from, ...) until it prints the subject, and then four consecutive warnings are shown: - "Error writing to network - Cause: socket operation on non-socket (10038)" (two times) -"Error sending command to SMTP server" -"Error sending message to server" And my message remains in the Out box... Despite of this, I can perfectly run other winsock apps, such as WinVN (the news reader I'm using :-), mosaic and cello (hypertext-like internet browser). I'm running Windows For Workgroups (3.11), I use wlibsock.dll and winsock.dll (from LAN Workplace for DOS) and all of this has worked before... What could have changed? Is it a SMTP server problem ? Some Windows component missing/damaged ? Eudora ? 42 ? HELP!!! Kriz hmkriz@vt.edu >University Libraries >Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University (Virginia Tech) >Blacksburg, VA 24061 I noticed this problem with the Alpha 1 and Alpha 2 versions, and reported it to the Mosaic developers for both versions. I ran Mosaic through Bounds Checker for Windows and found that Mosaic has lots of leaks. The most serious one is a GlobalRealloc that allocates a good-sized chunk of memory which is never freed. I also discovered that Mosaic crashes my computer if run under the debugging version of Windows. That is very serious indeed. So far I haven't received any response from the Mosaic developers. Does anybody know if they are alive? Frank Walker National Library of Medicine walker@nlm.nih.gov
